On Thursday, December 28, 2017, surrounded by family, Lewis S. Ellis Jr. left this life to join the family and friends that went before him.
Lewis was born on November 11, 1946 to Elaine and Lewis S. Ellis Sr. From November 1963 to February 1968 he honorably served in the U.S. Navy. In 1970, he joined the Ford Team, retiring as a supervisor after 30 years. In retirement he worked as a security guard at Lewis Jewelers.
Lew is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia; daughter Stephanie (Todd) and her children Tesla (Carter), Seth and Remington. Brothers Ron (Ruth), Tim (Carol), and sister Tami (David). Mother-in-law Zelma and in-laws Johnny (Deb), Connie (Earl), Janet (Bill), and Mike (Karen). Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends including Bob, Jeff and his boys.
Lew was preceded in death by his parents and step father Chet; Sister Laura and brother Terry; many special aunts and uncles and favorite dog Baily.
Lew will be missed everyday for his generosity and quick wit. Lew’s family always came first, but golf at Rustic Glen brought him much joy and good company. He enjoyed hunting, guns and knives, motorcycles, and life. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church of Saline with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Tom Zimmerman will be officiating and Bobbi Hinsman will be participating in the service.
