Lodi Township Woman Assaulted After Home Invasion

A 21-year-old Saline man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a 56-year-old woman during a home invasion in Lodi Township early Friday morning.

The woman was transported by ambulance to hospital in serious condition, according to Chad French, spokesperson for Huron Valley Ambulance.

The woman was being treated at a local hospital for injuries which are not life-threatening, according to a statement released by the Michigan State Police.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Shelly Court, located off Weber Road.

Michigan State Police arrested the suspect hiding in bushes on the victim’s property, according to a statement released by police.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers from the Saline Police Department were also at the scene, as were members of the Saline Area Fire Department and EMTs from Huron Valley Ambulance.

According to the news release, the suspect will be arraigned Saturday.
