 07/06/2017 - 15:36

A 16-year-old teenaged male from Ann Arbor had just bought pot with his friend in Clinton when they saw Curtiss Park in Saline. They took it a sign to pull into the park and smoke a joint.

Moments later, they were spotted by an officer from the Saline Police Department.

The officer was conducting a routine park check when he spotted a black Hyundai backed into a park space. Inside the vehicle were two teenaged males and a white cloud of smoke.

The driver of the vehicle, a 15-year-old with a learner’s permit, said he’d taken his brother’s vehicle, without consent, and driven to Clinton to buy marijuana. On the way back, they saw Curtiss Park. Since his passenger was named Curtis, they felt it was a good idea to stop in the park.

Police confiscated a marijuana blunt, grinder, scale, pipe, and several glass jars.

The boys were taken to the Saline Police Department and then turned over to their parents. The report has been forwarded to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
