No charges were filed against a man who threatened suicide and allegedly threatened to shoot police officers who tried to stop him.
Saline Police were called to home on Cottonwood Lane Saturday morning by “a friend or family member” of a man who made a suicidal statement, according to Sgt. Andrew Hartwig. Police learned the man owned several firearms, Sgt. Hartwig said. The man also allegedly threatened to shoot police officers if they responded to the house, Sgt. Hartwig said.
Police and first responders from Huron Valley Ambulance and the Saline Area Fire Department arrived on the scene, but the man was gone.
The man was located in Livingston County Saturday afternoon by Michigan State Police. He was transported to hospital for evaluation, Sgt. Hartwig said, and no charges were filed.
