The Saline varsity boys’ track and field team picked up two more wins in the SEC at Pioneer Tuesday.
Eric Harris led what was a field day for the Hornets. The senior cleared 15 feet to win the pole vault. He also won the long jump with a personal-record 21-03.5.
Senior Matt Lau, a state champion swimmer, was tops in the pole vault. He threw 44-09, a personal best. Travor Garbo was second at 44 feet. Saline took five of the top spots. In the discus, Garbo won with a throw of 135-10. Grant Armstrong was second (128-01). Austin Hannah, 126-02, and Lau, 121-03.75, rounded out the top four.
Also in the field, Matthew Hardt was second in pole vault, clearing 12-06. Kyle Greenwood was third in long jump, leaping 19-01.
Christopher Chuparkhoff starred on the track. He won the 400 in 50.01. He was second in the 200 in 21.97. He was third in the 100 in 11.13.
Luke Atzinger was second in the 100 hurdles (16:21) and second in the 300 hurdles (43.83)
Winford Walker was fourth in the 200 in a personal-best 22.59.
In the 400, Jack Fenelon was second, 53.74, and Walker was third, 54.17.
Anthony DeKraker was second in the 1600 meters (4:25.66)
