The Saline High School competitive cheer team won the meet at home Thursday to take a stranglehold on first place in the SEC Red.
Saline took first place for the second straight SEC meet. Each of the first two meets are worth 30 percent in the final standings. The last meet, to be held at Monroe, is worth 40 percent.
On Thursday, the Hornets finished first, ahead of Bedford.
Meanwhile, the Saline girls also won in the middle school division.

Saline's four seniors, Megan Allgood Gochis, Danyelle Beckesh, Hailey Garner and Ashley Hannah talked about their team's victory.
