The Saline girls swim and dive team defeated Brighton 112-74 Tuesday in the Hornet pool.
Lizzy Spears and Maddie Luther each won two events for Saline, which won five of nine individual events and two of three relays. Cam McPherson, who won the one-meter diving event, was also a winner for Saline.
Saline opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay, with Maddy Murphy, Spears, Luther and Johanna Jorgenson swimming the event in 1:50.16. In the 200-yard freestyle, Luther won in 1:54.19. Emily Laing was fourth in 2:01.49 and Sarah Burchart was fifth in 2:03.61.
Spear, the school record-holder in the 200-yard IM, won the event in 2:06.21. Sydney Kermath was fourth (2:16.44) and Murphy was fifth (2:16.9). Brighton’s Taylor Seaman won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.92. Jorgenson was second in 24.42 and Lauryn Kruse was fourth in 26.67.
Camryn McPherson won the diving event with a score of 301.65. Sarah Densham was third with 188.7 and Paige Gidley was fourth with 187.
The 100-yard fly was won by Brighton’s Lindsey Witte in 1:00.35. Murphy was second in 1:00.74. Paige Wilson was third in 1:01.11 and Emily Klemptner was fourth in 1:03.26. Seaman also won the 100-yard freestyle for Brighton in 52.1. Laing was second in 54.72, Burchart was third in 56.12 and Riley Jones was fourth in 56.15.
Luther won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:00.73. Jorgenson was second in 5:05.5. Kermath was fifth in 5:25.6.
The team of Spears, Murphy, Luther and Jorgenson won the 200-yard free relay in 1:38.5.
Spears won the 100-yard backstroke in 59.61. Jones was third in 1:03.74 and Madeline Robison was fourth in 1:06.04.
Brighton’s Julianne Libler won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.68. Emma Loveland was second in 1:10.49, a shade faster than Kruse, who finished in 1:10.72. Kelsey Robinson was fourth in 1:14.12.
Brighton won the 400-yard freestyle relay.
