Saline Varsity Boys Cross Country Team Wins at Bath Invitational

Saline ran away from the competition at the Bret Clements Bath Invitational Saturday.

Even with star senior Anthony DeKraker on the sideline, the Hornets finished with 69 points – 21 better than second place Hudsonville.

Saline was led by junior Jevin Nishioka, who finished fourth in a personal best 16:06.5. Senior Joshua Cook was 10th in 16:26 and senior Aidan Delfuoco was right behind him in 16:27. Both runners set career marks. Junior Will Downey was 18th in 16:42.8. Derek Liemohn capped off the scoring. He was 26th in 16:57. Jack Toor and Neil Garg also ran for Saline varsity.

The junior varsity Hornets ran at the Ramblin Rock Invitational at Willow Metropark in New Boston. In the varsity race Saline finished 13th. Andrew Chen was the fastest Hornet, taking 63rd in 17:45. Evan Bleitz, Cristofer Clisham, Ethan Smith and Brock Boze finished in the scoring.

Saline placed second in the junior varsity race with 68 points – 13 behind Hartland. Cole Trese was the fastest runner, finishing eighth in 18:00. Jacob Brunty, Noah Pelletier, Johnathan Speers and Joseph Fedoronko also finished in the scoring.
