MERC Judge Tells City to Give Boulter his Stripes, City Appeals

A judge ruled in April that the City of Saline re-instate Saline Police officer Chris Boulter as sergeant. Boulter resigned his sergeant’s position Dec. 4, 2013, after the department investigated his romantic relationship with a subordinate. Boulter was married to another subordinate at the time. In February of 2014, Boulter took the city to the Michigan Employment Relations Commission to get his rank back. He cited alleged unfair labor practices.

Saline Man ODs on Heroin, Found Passed Out in Vehicle at Michigan and Harris

Shortly after 8 p.m., a motorist flagged down firefighters after seeing the 25-year-old man passed out behind the wheel at Michigan Avenue and Harris Street. Firefighters found the man unconscious behind the wheel of a Ford Bronco, with no passengers in the vehicle. Firefighters and EMTs from Huron Valley Ambulance determined the man was in cardiac arrest and he was transported to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
