The Summer Music Series – a free, outdoor concert brought to you by Saline Main Street, continues this Thursday, June 23 at 7 pm. This week the series features the ABC Sisters & Saline Big Band.Three-Part Harmonies, Big Band Sound – Arguably the most famous sister act in history, the Andrew’s Sisters not only sold 4 million records in the 1940s and World War II era, but were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998. Now you can hear their amazing three-part harmonies and trumpet-like scat singing as three real-life sisters – Ayla, Bailey, and Carly, present ABC Sisters: An Andrews Sisters Tribute Act.
Up next, the 17 Piece Saline Big Band has played all over Southeast Michigan. This band is a direct outgrowth of the Saline Music program and has been serving the Schools and Community of Saline Michigan, since 1973. Over the years the band has acquired and maintains a large music library of old and new big band arrangements.
In addition, the unfortunate weather of May 14th forced Relay For Life of Saline to close early, causing participants to miss the most special part of the event. The Luminaria Ceremony features the display of small white “Luminaria” bags decorated in honor of loved ones to help us honor and remember those we have lost to cancer. The meaning behind each bag is an important part of why we Relay For Life each year.
All Summer Music Series concerts begin at 7:00pm on S. Ann Arbor St. in downtown Saline. The series is free to all guests and highlights a wide variety of cultured musicians.
In addition to the spectacular music, guests can enjoy downtown Saline’s favorite eateries and unique shops.
